This is the beginning of my favorite season. Back to back holidays within the span of a couple months. A creative’s dream. While I am literally beaming with Halloween spirit, I still like easy, cheap and simple. That is forever. My kiddos are physically attending school and the requirements state only prepackaged treats will be accepted. Let me take a minute and say thank you to the establishment for taking the guilt away from making any fancy homemade treats.
Since I live in the Virgin Islands, where options are a bit of an unknown, I HAD to decide on the treat first. I was actually looking for some cool Halloween cookies or crackers but found these organic pops on sale at Cost-U-Less instead. Total score. This is why I go scouring for deals first.
DESIGN
You know Pinterest was my first stop for Halloween lollipop covers but I wanted something fun for the kiddos and still minimalist. I know. I’m extra. I spent 6 dollars on a packet of 30 stock images and used powerpoint online to create the template. Because I have a son and a daughter, I created a set of 3 for girls and another for boys. They’re all pretty neutral so you have options if your kids aren’t as particular as mine. I am super happy with the simplicity of it and the kids love it too. Here’s what you need to get started.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Halloween lollipop covers (download below)
- White card stock
- Scissors
- 1/8 inch hole punch or x-acto knife
- Lollipops
DIRECTIONS
- Print out the lollipop cover templates on card stock.
- Follow the dotted lines to cut out the outside border of the template.
- Punch a hole on top of each dot as this is where the lollipop stick will go through. If you have an x-acto knife, then make an “X” on the dot to create an opening.
- Fold along the lines as marked.
- Slide the lollipop stick through one hole, fold the cover around it like a matchbook and then slide the stick through the other hole.
- Repeat until you have reached your desired amount.
