You know what time it is. The kick-off to our favorite time of year. From the time I moved to the United States when I was 7 years old, I have been in love with the idea of being anyone or anything for just one day. I wasn’t a big dreamer but Halloween was the one time of year where I actually let myself swing for the fences. My mother’s budget didn’t always match my visions (one year I was a clown, y’all) but my obsession with Halloween never wavered. Now, I look forward to dressing up with my kids every year. So, Let’s get into these costumes.

Last year, we veered away from superheroes and dressed as Trolls World Tour but this year we are back to our roots. If you haven’t guessed by now, we stan for Marvel in this house. Our family looked forward to Wandavision every week on Disney+, during the height of the pandemic. We like to give the kids options from a limited list and they were super excited to choose this one!
I am usually a big DIY girl when it comes to this holiday but after dealing with breast cancer this year, I chose peace. Good news for anyone looking to recreate these costumes is that they are super easy and don’t require a ton of extra work. I’m really happy with how these turned out and I hope that when Jax and Eden look back at these pics, it makes them smile. Now, enough mushy stuff. Let’s dive into these costumes…
Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch)

OK, so I can relate to Wanda’s character more than you know. She takes overprotective to a whole new level. Even though I’m quite a nice person, if you mess with my family you need to watch your back. I was a bit hesitant to wear this costume because it’s tight on tight on tight but the Cape provided the coverage I needed to be out here in these streets. Everything was store bought which is a bit foreign to this DIY-mama but I’m really enjoying all the extra time I have this year. The only tweak I made was to paint the “crown” red. I used a paint pen but if I had to do it all again, I would use spray paint. Always choose spray paint, guys…

Vision

I think it’s pretty clear that Steve understood the assignment. Let me tell you, when I saw him turn the corner in this outfit, I almost fell on the floor. The kids were stunned into silence for a hot second and it’s hard to get any kind of quiet around here. This has got to be one of my all-time favorites of Steve’s. We’ve had quite a long run so that says a lot. The hardest part about putting this costume together was finding the right shade of yellow shorts. I know I’m nit-picky but I am secure in my high standards. All I can say is thank God for cameras and the internet because I need this picture to live on forever.

- Face paint
- Gloves (the ones we bought are sold out but this could be a good alternative)
Tommy Maximoff (Speed)

I mean did we really question if Jackson was going to want to be Speed? He prides himself on being fast on the soccer field and the pool, so it was an easy choice to make him Tommy Maximoff. Because we live on an island, we have to choose costumes, that if updated for summer, still look very much like the character. I didn’t have silver masking tape at home, but I had way too much silver spray paint, so I sprayed the T shirt myself. I would absolutely use tape, especially if you wanted to reuse the shirt.

Billy Maximoff (Wiccan)

Even though Billy Maximoff is a guy that was not going to stop us from turning Eden into the cutest little super hero mind reader you ever did see. I think the only reason she agreed to wear this is because of the sparkly tutu. As a mom, persuasion is at the top of your job duties list. What I love the most about this is that she will reuse each of these elements over and over again. How could you not love a Halloween costume that can gives back all year long? Check out her little pose. She is really feeling herself and I am here for it.

Happy Halloween
Well, that’s it until next year. Even if Halloween isn’t your favorite holiday, I hope you find some time to be silly, have fun and create amazing memories. If our little family has brightened your day just a tag, then our job here is done. Happy Halloween from our home to yours.
