It’s not quite December yet but if you’re a planner like me, you have already been thinking about Christmas gifts for all the special people in your life. I’m here to talk about one special person in particular that can be hard to shop for. Moms typically buy whatever they want for themselves anyway so if you happen to have one that’s a minimalist, then this gift guide for the minimalist mom is just for you.
I know your recipient may not have my taste but hopefully, you find some good options below. There is a mix of big and small business stores because I really wanted to spread the love all the way around. Hope you enjoy!
1. Time Alone
Okay. Here me out. I know there’s a pandemic so all the friends, grandparents and siblings are off the hook on this one. Significant others, on the other hand, are my target audience. This costs you ZERO dollars and will buy you so many brownie points. If you’re going to “wrap” this as a gift, it’s gotta be a full 8 hours of alone time. Step this gift up a notch by including some of her favorite items: a good book, her favorite wine and some snacks. You and the kids are allowed to stay in the house but keep the noise to a minimum…lol. I am REALLY hoping my husband reads this post (wink wink).

Minimalists tend to be very introspective people who like to stay in touch with their emotions. A beautiful journal will not only make them smile because of its outward appearance but every time they write a deep thought, they will think of you. Make sure you put a little inscription or note on the inside cover with the date to commemorate the facilitation of their mental health and wellness. It’s a super sweet way to say you care.
3. Tea/Coffee Spoons
Every mom needs a cup of something to either start their day or calm down at night. These tea and spice spoons will add just the right amount of fancy to her routine. They are made of brass and will oxidize over time aging gracefully just like mom!

Apparently, Amazon has upgraded this beauty as it is the thinnest, lightest, waterproof, large-storage (32GB) version yet!
8. Live Indoor Plant
Who couldn’t do with a little more oxygen these days? This gold potted snake plant is the perfect gift for the mom who loves nature and all things green. This particular plant is low maintenance, does not require much light and is super chic in any space. Mom will breathe easier and be less stressed which is what we want for all our hard-working women in our life, right?
9. Felt Letter Board
This felt letter board comes in SO many colors, it’s ridiculous but it’s good to have options, I guess. There are tons of uses for these from announcements, to family messages and photo props that only a mom can appreciate. Minimalist moms will love this because one little board will work for all holidays, events and everyday decor.
10. Cozy Pajamas
Cozy Earth pajamas have been on my personal wishlist for a long time now. They were one of Oprah’s favorite things when that was a thing and are made of stretch knit bamboo. They come in grey , ivory and black and are offered in a range of sizes (X-small to X-large). If I ever get these pajamas, I may never take them off!
11. Dutch Oven
Now this Le Creuset dutch oven is a personal favorite of mine and every mom should have one. They cook food beautifully and are so easy to clean. The pots are nice and heavy and come in tons of colors. I’m not usually a fan of gifting kitchen items for mom but this one is an exception for sure. It features adjustable ear loops and has a built in lanyard so you always know where it is. We’ll be wearing mask for quite some time so keep that special lady in your life stocked and safe!
14. Online Course
Minimalists value experiences but considering the state of the world right now, options are very limited. Why not gift a virtual course with Udemy focused on something she is passionate about and? Now, I’m not trying to put any added stress on moms, by any means. Udemy is a self paced, learn for fun platform with a wide range of content. You pay for per course and receive lifetime access with each purchase. Udemy is also heavily discounted throughout the year so there are many affordable selections. This won’t be the gift for every mom but it’s a good option for those who would love to learn a new skill.
15. Self Care Kit
This self care kit is especially for moms who don’t make enough time to relax and pamper themselves. The items are all-natural and include soap, lip balm, bath salts and rescue balms. There are so many scents to choose from and the kit already comes wrapped so no extra work for the gift giver. Perfect item to have delivered right to their door. I can’t think of one mom who wouldn’t be excited to receive this!
